Crafting Authentic Brand Photography for Small Businesses

If you are a small business owner dreaming of having authentic, feel-good, scroll-stopping brand photography you are in the right place.

You may lack confidence or worry about what other people think but getting your face out on your website and socials helps you connect and engage with your audience. As a non-makeup wearing creative who likes to ‘dress for comfort’ I know how hard it can be to show up and be visible online.

I will spend time getting to know you and your business before your shoot so you can feel more comfortable and confident on the day. Part of our planning is coming up with plenty of ideas for photos that will align with your brand to represent your products or services and help showcase the personality behind your business.

We will create a bank of useful images to suit the mood of different social media platforms and make sure you and your business look professional, talented, approachable and friendly. Having clear and consistent photographs that you feel proud to use allows you to build trust with your audience and grow your brand visibility.

Creating a relatable online presence is something the right clients simply can’t resist.

About Me

sarah in a profile picture holding her camera

I must confess, writing ‘about me’ (or any copy in fact) is something I really struggle with, but I find it so much easier when I have some decent photos to put alongside the words.

How many personal brands do you trust where you can’t picture the owner’s face?

The first thing I do when I find a new company is to scroll through their socials or go to the about page on their website. I want to know who I’m buying from or working with.

I thrive on working with other business people, seeing their online presence grow and level up when the brand has a whole new feel is super rewarding.

I’d be thrilled to be telling your story, Sarah x

The Impact of Clear, Consistent, and Professional Business Photography

Having clear and consistent well-lit professional images of your business that you are proud of and confident to use allows you to create a more personable brand and build trust with your audience online. Showing images of yourself and your personality alongside behind-the-scenes and detail shots can strengthen that trust with prospective customers and provide extra content to really illustrate what you can do.

Testimonials

“Sarah, a huge thank you for such an enjoyable headshot photo shoot - I was dreading it, as usually I look so grim, not the ‘look’ I wanted for my leaflet ‘Celebration of Life’ at all, but you made it all very easy and the subsequent photos are excellent.”

— Helene Elysee, Celebrant

“I wanted the images to look approachable so that people would like to work with me! I also wanted them to reflect my creativity and values. Sarah really understood what I was hoping for; that she made the experience enjoyable was a bonus!”

Consultation

After getting in touch, we can book a call to get to know each other and so I can discover more about your business and what you need before arranging a date and location for the shoot. If you are thinking about professional hair and make-up, I can give recommendations of excellent local hair and make-up artists who will help ease your stress and boost your confidence.

I usually recommend bringing a few different tops with an outfit that matches them for time-saving changes at your session. Scarves are a really quick and easy way to include colours in a headshot if you usually wear them. Planning The Shoot

There are several types of photos we can take during your brand shoot. During our consultation, we can discuss what would work best for your website and socials, which style best fits your brand personality and message, and where else you are planning to use your brand photos.

Bring along anything that you might use in your job. For example, if you are an artist, bring your iPad or sketchbook.

If you have products to sell or a physical workspace you would like to capture we will make sure to incorporate those into your session. If you run events or workshops we can arrange for me to be there to capture the essence of the event and get shots of you in action.

On The Day

On the day we will either start from the studio or from a location decided during your consultation. We will spend the session time together creating a variety of images tailored to your brand and business for your social content and website. During the shoot, I can guide you into poses that make you look natural and comfortable and I can give advice on how to stand and what to do with your hands.

Having at least one or two photos of your face on your website and in your marketing makes your brand more approachable and relatable, even if you hate having your photo taken. My main goal when working with clients is to make sure you are comfortable in front of the camera and happy to use your final photos online.

After The Shoot

A couple of weeks after your shoot you will receive an email with a link to your password-protected gallery where you can download your images in high resolution and web resolution.

I can also retouch/edit photos if requested. I’m a total photoshop geek! I can get rid of pimples, bruises, wheelie bins, bird poop on buildings and weird reflections.
